Biography of
Officer Ron Rollins

Officer Rollins began his career as a Chisago County
Sheriff’s Cadet in high school. He then began working as a part-time
dispatcher for the sheriff’s department at the age of 16. Two years
later, he received a part-time license as a peace officer with Taylors
Falls and Wyoming Police Departments. Then, in 1981, he served three
years as a MP in the U.S. Army.
After his military career, Off. Rollins spent
thirteen
years as a dispatcher for the Minnesota State Troopers before accepting a
full time position with the Lakes Area Police Department. In 2004, he was
hired by his hometown police department, North Branch, where he quickly obtained Raven,
and they became the North Branch’s K-9 team.
Officer Rollins is a trained intoxilyzer operator,
DNR snowmobile and firearms safety instructor, certified in juvenile
restorative justice conferencing, certified radar operator, certified
background investigator, trained in teaching Project Charlie materials for
1st to 3rd graders and was the recipient of the
first James Trudeau Award honoring Law officer’s commitment to youth.
