Biography of Officer David Janssen #518 Officer David Janssen is from Rush City, MN and began his law enforcement career in 1997. Working for various departments in Chisago County, he accepted his current position with the North Branch Police Department in April of 2001. While employed by North Branch, Off. Janssen is trained and certified in the instructing of other officer's in police radar, use of force, handgun/M-16/AR-15, Glock Armorer and is one of North Branch's Field Training Officer 's . Off. Janssen is also a member of the Chisago County SWAT Team and has attended basic tactical operations, chemical munitions, manual and firearm breaching, high risk entry/hostage rescue and is a certified Sniper.
Biography of Officer Tim Olson #519 Officer Tim Olson was born and raised in Hoyt Lakes, Mn. He has been a police officer since 1993, serving first for his hometown of Hoyt Lakes. He would later spend over 5 years working for the Dept of Corrections and State Fair Police Department. After serving 2 years with the Chisago City Police Department, he came to North Branch Police Department in 2002. For the past 4 years, Officer Olson has been a Crime Prevention Specialist.
Biography of Officer John Pego #516 Officer John Pego is from Roseville, Mn where he graduated from Kellogg High School. After High School, he joined the Air Force and served over eight years as an U.S. Air Force Intelligence Analyst working under the authority of the National Security Agency (NSA). During his military career, he worked on two U.S. Space Shuttle Launches, served in Germany for Desert Shield and for Air Force Special Ops, Hurlburt Field, Florida for Desert Storm. He then received two Joint Service Achievement Medals for post-Gulf war activity while stationed at Menwith Hill Station in England. After his military career, Officer Pego worked 11 years as a computer specialist for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and three years as a Cambridge Police Reserve before coming to North Branch. He lives in Cambridge where he breeds and trains German Shepherd Dogs.
Biography of Officer Engebretson #521 Officer Kelly Engebretson is from White Bear Lake, Mn. With a degree in graphic communications, she worked in the advertising and printing industry for several years in the Twin Cities area. After moving out of the cities she became a volunteer firefighter with the Braham Volunteer Fire Department and a volunteer EMT-IV with the North Branch Area Ambulance and Rescue Service. Off. Engebretson started her career in law enforcement as a Minneapolis Police Reserve Officer. She served with Washington County for three years as a 911 Telecommunicator and with Pine County for 10 years as a 911 Dispatcher/Jailer where she was one of their certified training officers. After obtaining a degree in law enforcement, Off. Engebretson accepted her current position with the North Branch Police Department in 2006.
Biography of Officer Sean Huset #523 Officer Huset began his career with the Thief River Falls Police Department in 1995. While employed he obtained training in death scene investigations, bicycle patrol, use of force, defensive tactics, and background investigations. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2002 and became the Certified Firearms Instructor. He is also Glock Armor certified. Off. Huset was hired by North Branch Police Department in June of 2007. Off. Huset enjoys his time off with his wife and three children.
